The Papercuts are cut by laser (based on a pattern from a computer file) and shaped by hand into a variety of compositions. Both aspects of the process, the digital as well as the physical, play a key role in their conception. Here the exactness of the CAD (Computer Aided Deisign) is allowed to become symbiotically immersed and softened by both the incandescent laser, that manages to slightly burnish the edges of its cuts, and by the more manual and tactile manipulation of the paper by the hands of its designer.
